Ethics Amendments & Renewals

Changes to an already approved ethics protocol must be approved. Changes that require approval include:

• Recruitment or participant compensation (e.g., you now wish to recruit paid participants).
• New experimenters

1. Go to: http://www.research.utoronto.ca/ethics/eh_forms.html (search for 'Amendment Form')
2. Fill out the form
3. Print out a revised protocol with changes made in bold
4. Submit both to the Office of Research Ethics

[edit] Annual Renewal

Studies are granted approval for a one year period. To extend the study beyond the approved date you need to renew your ethics protocol.

1. Go to: http://www.research.utoronto.ca/ethics/eh_forms.html (search for 'Annual Renewal of Ethics Approval Form')
2. Fill out the form
3. Submit it to the Office of Research Ethics
